Moisture is moisture, no matter where it comes from. Leaky plumbing or clothes hung out to dry in your basement will, of course, cause unwanted condensation. You can prevent it all easily enough by repairing plumbing promptly, opening windows or drying clothes in an automatic dryer vented outdoors. If these suggestions don't help, try using a large-capacity dehumidifier. Before you invest in the wrong remedy, however, you might want to borrow a dehumidifier from a friend or neighbor.
